Name: Björn Andersson Nickname: bybben Team: syre Alter: 20
MyTeamFortress.de: Alright. I'm here with bybben from the swedish Team Fortress 2 team "syre", thanks for taking the time to answer our questions, bybben. First of, could you briefly introduce yourselves to all the people out there who haven't heard of you yet. bybben:Hi everyone. My name is Björn Andersson and I'm 20 years old. Currently (as you mentioned) playing scout for team syre along with Glufse. I've played alot of different FPS games in the past, mainly Q3 and my favourite Painkiller, and now I somehow got hooked up with TF2.
MyTeamFortress.de: What's the main difference between TF2 and the other FPS Games you've played so far? Also, which game do you think has helped you most in the process of mastering the Scout?
bybben:It's definitely all the different classes. It brings alot of variety to the game that I think alot of other games lack. And as for the class, I just picked the fastest one, don't think any specific game helped me with that one. I just enjoy scout the most.
MyTeamFortress.de: What's the teamplay with your partner Glufse like? Is it kind of a "silent understanding" or do you two communicate a lot about who to hit, where to go etc.
bybben:It's both actually. Sometimes we do some freelancing and just kill stuff. But mostly we communicate alot, we want to know where the other one is, and what he's doing. When we do our pushes and defenses we also always have a plan. But Glufse is really easy to play with, we're basically the same person, we think the same and have similar playstyles. Great companion on the battlefield!
MyTeamFortress.de: Concerning your whole team, how did all of you come together? Did you know each other before or are the people on the team "Team Fortress 2 acquaintances"?
bybben:So me and Glufse knew eachother from before, not really sure about the other guys.
MyTeamFortress.de: Now for all the aspiring fanboys out there, let's talk settings. Which kind of mouse/mousepad are you using at the moment, what's your windows/ingame mouse sensitivity and are you using any special cvars, parameters etc. or are you playing mostly on standrad settings?
bybben:I'm using a Logitech MX518 with a Qpad XL with 1.4 ingame sensitivity and default in windows. Also I'm using custom keymappings instead of the deafult 'wasd' setup. Not so much different though, just moved the keys one step to the right, so I'm playing with 'esdf', feels more natural :). And no special cvars or parameters.
MyTeamFortress.de: How much and how do you train? Is it team-only training or are you training on public as well? How many hours a day (week) are you playing TF2?
bybben: We usually play pcws 3 days a week, and on the days between I try to play some public. I'd say I play about 0-4 hours a day.
MyTeamFortress.de: How far do you think will you go in the upcoming ESL Major Series Tournament? Are you gunning for 1st place or what exactly is your team's goal?
bybben:We're definitely aiming for top3. But ofcourse we're doing everything we can to finish first. But I'd say our main goal is just to have a great time with the clan and enjoy the moment :)
MyTeamFortress.de: Thanks for the interview! For giggles mainly: If you had to turn one of your teammates female and take him... erm... her to a deserted island, who would it be? bybben:I'd probably take Glufse. I know he has a thing for me already, so we'd probably get it on right there on the beach. And I'd call him Lisa.
MyTeamFortress.de: Any last shoutouts? Friends, family etc. pp, people you want to greet/flame?
bybben:Yes I'd like to give a shoutout to the clan. Every evening with you is great, we're always having a laugh and it feels good to be a part of this group of skilled players and great persons!
MyTeamFortress.de: And that's it for the interview. Thanks again, bybben! The best of luck to you and your team for the future.
bybben:And many thanks to you! you're doing a great job for the TF2 community, keep up the good work :)
