Hi, agron thank you for the time you´re offering us. Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Hey hey, I'm agron and I've played medic for teams such as fracture, cruciamentum and currently for dignitas. I'm 23 years old student in the University of Helsinki. My offline hobbies include jogging and kickboxing. I'm currently in a relationship which is pissing Darn off because I cant play as often as he'd like. Mmm...I also like long walks on the beach.
What does it mean to you playing medic for one of the best teams in TF2?
Well not that much. I'm actually kinda surprised I'm "here". I bought TF2 when it was still in the beta (yes, I've got the medal to prove it, woop woop) and I was just supposed to play the game in publics. Somehow I eneded up playing 6v6 and for some reason I wasn't too bad at medicing. For some reason in 2008 there wasnt too many "good medics" around and I got familiar with the right people so I was able to make my way in to the good teams. I like playing at the top level because i'm fairly competitive.
Do you think its all about the performence of the players which play in higher divs or do you just need to know the right people to find your way into the "elite"?
Both. Even if you're really good at the game you won't get anywhere if you don't know the right people. You also have to have a fairly good reputation and get along with other top players. See fragga as an example. Mind you, you don't have to be everybody's friend, but if most of div1 dislikes you, you're hard pressed to find a team that suits you.
Do you feel any pressure when you play for dignitas or is everything still fun on such a dedicated level in TF2? And if so, how do you handle it?
Sometimes I still feel some pregame jitters. When I really want to win a game, I get a rush and some shaky hands for a second but when the round starts it goes away fast. Then I usually focus on the game itself. It's not that I'm feeling the pressure about playing for dignitas, or in front of hundreds of spectators. I play to win and want to do my best in every important game that we play.
Are you disappointed with the last ETF2L season?
Of course a bit. But considering our waning interest in practice and the game itself, it's not that surprising. We stopped playing the usual sunday - thursday routine like last spring and for a long time we were still able to play mostly just officials and win most of them. It was fun tbh, part of me wishes that we could still do that (I like winning after all) but it is really good for the scene that we aren't just cruising through every league we participate in. :)
So you probably finished 3rd cause you didn´t played that much then. But were there other factors aswell like the auto Maps for example?
Heh, well the new maps probably made the difference, and the fixed maps in general. In the previous seasons we were able to pick our good maps vs harder opponents and play maps that we werent that confident about vs easier opponents. I think the current system is flawed because we don't have playoffs/finals at the of the season like the americans do. That's something I _want_ to see in etf2l if fixed maps are going to be used in the future. The top 4 should be the bunch of teams that can make it through the random regular season. Then the top 4 should play playoffs and finals in matches where they get to pick the maps themselves.
You guys looked for a new soli, but as far as I know you didnt recruit one, so is appe back as fulltime soldier again?
Appe was away for 2 weeks so we were never looking for a player to replace appe permanently. Although appe's work is annoying for us because he's away every other week. It's hard to try to practice at all when he's away so much, but that's not that big of a problem.
Will we see dignitas on the summer assembly and the I40?
If we don't slit our wrists and fold before that, then yes...we should be attending both events. :]
And why do you use the Killer Xeno Pro Gaming Network Card again? :p
:DDD
How weird was it make such a commercial?
Well it was really weird atleast for me tbh. Never done anything like it. But it was a fun experience and i didn't have any problems about doing it. Dignitas supports us in many ways and it was good to be able to do something for ODEE as well. :]
Alright agron, thanks again for such great anwsers and effort, “myteamfortress.de” whishes you and your team all the best for the upcoming events!
